Introduction

Trackbee aims to offer you the most precise social media tracking and attribution for your e-commerce store. However, occasional discrepancies in data can arise due to various factors.

Sometimes, the data in Trackbee does not match within your ad dashboard, even though the data in Shopify does match that in TrackBee.

This guide has been created to address and rectify any such inconsistencies.

We split these data inconsistencies into two categories:

Over-tracking in your ad dashboard

Over-tracking Defined:

Over-tracking occurs when the system reports more events, interactions, or transactions than actually took place. It's essential to understand and address this to ensure accurate data representation.

1. Third-Party Shopify Apps with Pixel Integrations:

Some third-party Shopify apps, especially those with pixel integrations, may unintentionally interfere with Trackbee's tracking capabilities. When these apps send data to platforms simultaneously as Trackbee, it can lead to events being registered multiple times, reducing the accuracy of tracking.

Recommended Action:

If you are using such third-party applications and observe inconsistencies or potential double-tracking in your data, it might be beneficial to reconfigure or even reconsider their use. Should you continue to notice anomalies or if you need guidance on managing these integrations, please reach out to our customer service team.

2. Third-Party tracking Apps

Third-party tracking apps can inadvertently disrupt Trackbee's meticulous data collection. If left enabled, these apps often send overlapping data, leading to duplicated event registrations. This double tracking severely compromises the accuracy of the results.

Recommended Action:

For optimal tracking with Trackbee, it's essential to delete these conflicting third-party apps. If deletion isn't immediately possible, please request their deactivation. Should the issue persist or if you need assistance with deactivation, our customer service team is readily available to guide and support you.

3. Social Media Modeling

Meta, and similar apps, sometimes use modeling which leads them to record more sales in their dashboard. In situations where no click ID is provided, Meta attempts to "predict" from which ad a sale most likely originated. This causes inaccuracies due to Meta guessing, instead of using data to attribute sales.

Recommended Action:

Sadly, this over-tracking issue stems from the ad dashboard's modeling method and not from TrackBee's data. To ensure accuracy, always cross-reference results and consult TrackBee's metrics as your primary source. If you require assistance with any other matters, please don't hesitate to contact our customer service team.

Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of your data is our utmost priority. We always advise to cross-reference the data received on the pixel with that in Shopify. If the pixel data shows more entries than Shopify, it might indicate the presence of additional tracking mechanisms in the store. Should you continue to encounter any discrepancies or concerns, we urge you to reach out to our customer service team for dedicated support.

Under-tracking in your ad-dashboard

Under-tracking Defined:

Under-tracking occurs when the system reports fewer events, interactions, or transactions than actually took place. It's essential to understand and address this to ensure accurate data representation.

1. Meta/Pinterest/Tiktok dashboard registration

Sometimes, even when Trackbee transmits all data to the ad platform and receives

confirmation of successful receipt, discrepancies might still appear in the dashboard. These arise from processing lags, which can delay the display of data by several hours, or in some instances, one to two days. This time lag can give the impression of under-tracking, even when the data has been accurately transferred and acknowledged by the platform.

Recommended Action:

While TrackBee ensures accurate data transmission, the ad platform's internal processing might lead to temporary discrepancies. We recommend regularly cross- referencing the ad dashboard with TrackBee's metrics for a comprehensive view. For any concerns or clarity, our customer service team is always at your service.

2. Missing Pixels

There might be challenges in data transmission to the ad platform if tracking pixels are not properly integrated within TrackBee. If these pixels are not yet added, data transmission to the ad platform becomes impossible. Ensuring that these pixels are correctly added is paramount for TrackBee to effectively relay data and maintain accurate reporting.

3. App Embed is Disabled

If the app embed feature isn't enabled, TrackBee may face challenges in accessing ad data from Shopify. This could hinder TrackBee's ability to accurately attribute the data to the designated ad platform. Ensuring the app embed is active might resolve discrepancies and is crucial for accurate data tracking.

Recommended Action:

4. Third-Party tracking Apps

Third-party tracking apps sometimes register events outside of the platform, resulting in missing data in TrackBee's system. Specifically, certain sticky add-to-cart or bundle apps independently record these events. When these apps capture event data on their own, it prevents TrackBee from registering the same events and subsequently sending this information to the advertising platform. This external registration can lead to gaps in the data collection, impacting the overall accuracy of the tracking provided by TrackBee.

Recommended Action:

For optimal tracking with Trackbee, it's essential to delete these conflicting third-party apps. If deletion isn't immediately possible, please request their deactivation. Should the issue persist or if you need assistance with deactivation, our customer service team is readily available to guide and support you.

Maintaining the authenticity and precision of your data is our primary commitment. If you continue to notice inconsistencies or have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team for assistance.
