Introduction
For TrackBee to provide the most accurate and efficient tracking, it's crucial to remove or disable any prior tracking methods used on your Shopify store. This guide offers a step-by-step procedure on how to identify and disable the most common Shopify tracking methods.
Checking for Pixels on Your Webshop:
You can easily verify if tracking pixels are loaded on your webshop using specific Chrome extensions.
After installing, you'll find these extensions at the top right corner of your Google Chrome browser. Navigate to your webshop and click on each extension to see if any pixels or tags are active.
If Pixels/Tags are detected, follow the steps below
Change Facebook Sales Channel data sharing level:
Navigate to the Facebook sales channel.
Under the "Settings" tab, locate “Share data.”
Click on the “Change” button to change the data sharing level.
Set the data sharing level to "Conservative".
To prevent over tracking the Facebook Sales channel should be set to conservative. Any other data sharing level will cause data duplication.
Disabling Pinterest Sales Channel:
To remove Pinterest tracking, you need to uninstall the entire Pinterest sales channel.
Go to the sidebar: Sales channels > App and sales channel settings > Uninstall Pinterest.
Note: If you were using Pinterest for Verified Merchant benefits, reinstall the sales channel, and connect the business account but avoid connecting an ad account. If you have only one ad account, create a secondary one. Then, reinstall the sales channel and follow the same steps.
Disabling TikTok Sales Channel:
Go to Settings within the TikTok sales channel.
Under the "Data sharing" tab, click “Disconnect” next to the linked pixel.
Identifying and Removing Other Influential Apps:
Scan your app list for the following applications. If detected, uninstall them:
Omega (for Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok)
PinTrack
Pinoculars
TikPix
TiXel
Orichi
OnePixel
FBTrack
Additionally, navigate to Shopify Settings > Checkout. Scroll to "additional scripts" and check for any related scripts to the aforementioned apps. If you spot any (like a script with "omegatheme" in the URL), remove it.
Final Verification:
To confirm the complete removal of tracking, utilize the pixel helper extensions on your webshop once more. If no pixels/tags are detected, you've successfully disabled all third-party tracking, ensuring TrackBee works optimally.
