When running multiple apps on your Shopify store, conflicts can arise, affecting basic Shopify functionalities or server events, which in turn disrupts tracking services like TrackBee.

Known types of applications that can cause issues:

  • Sticky cart or other applications that change cart behavior. (Uplinky ATC, Slide Cart Drawer)

  • Bundling apps or other applications that change / replace the native add-to-cart button. (Kaching bundles, VO Product options)

  • External check-outs that process payments or check-outs outside of your store and (partially) skipping the Shopify check-out flow. (Firmhouse)

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you detect incompatible apps:

Step 1: Identify Symptoms of App Conflicts

1. Shopify Store Issues:

  • Theme not loading correctly.

  • Shopify Analytics incorrect or empty

  • Note attributes of orders are empty (We paste all tracked information in every order at the ‘Note attributes’)

2. Tracking and Server Event Issues:

  • Missing Add-to-cart or initiated checkout events and data

  • Missing UTM Parameters / TrackBee columns are empty

Step 2: Perform Initial Troubleshooting

1. Disable All Apps Temporarily:

  • In your Shopify admin panel, navigate to “Apps”.

  • Disable all apps and check if the issues persist. If the issues resolve, proceed to the next step.

2. Enable Apps One-by-One:

  • Re-enable TrackBee app.

  • Re-enable each other app one at a time.

  • After enabling each app, check for the reappearance of the issues.

  • Note which app causes the issues to reoccur.

Step 3: Isolate the Incompatible App

1. Conflict Confirmation:

  • Once an app is identified, disable it again to confirm if the issue resolves.

  • Enable other apps (excluding the problematic one) to ensure they are not causing additional conflicts.

2. Review App Documentation and Support:

  • Visit the identified app’s support documentation for known issues and conflict resolution.

  • Contact the app’s support team for assistance in resolving conflicts.
