How do I delete the Facebook & Instagram App from Shopify to prevent over tracking?

Introduction

When using TrackBee, it is important to ensure that no other tracking solutions are connected to your Shopify store. Multiple tracking applications running simultaneously can interfere with your primary tracking setup and may lead to issues such as double-counting of conversions. By deleting these additional tracking solutions within Shopify you will prevent data from being over tracked.

Note: Keep in mind that it is necessary to leave the Facebook & Instagram App installed when you have TrackBee's Meta Conversion Booster enabled. Simply navigate to your Facebook & Instagram app settings and set the data sharing level to "Conservative". Now both systems work together seamlessly!

1. Log in to your Shopify Admin Dashboard

Open your preferred web browser and navigate to Shopify.
Here you can Log in, using your store credentials.

2. Locate the Facebook & Instagram App

Once inside your Shopify admin dashboard, you can locate the Facebook & Instagram application by using the universal search bar.
Enter "Facebook & Instagram" into the search bar and execute the search.

3. Access the Facebook & Instagram App Settings

This search will direct you to the dedicated page within your Shopify environment.
Here, you will be able to access the tools necessary for modification or removal of the Facebook & Instagram application.

4. Open Facebook & Instagram's App Options Menu

Within the Facebook & Instagram app management page, locate the options menu represented by the three-dot icon (...) in the top-right corner.
Click on this options menu to display the available actions.

5. Uninstall the Facebook & Instagram App

From the drop-down menu, select the option "Uninstall" which will be labeled in red.

6. Confirm uninstallation of Facebook & Instagram

Here, you will be asked to indicate the reason for uninstalling the Facebook & Instagram app and to confirm your understanding of the associated risks.
After this step, you will be able to confirm the uninstallation by clicking on the red ‘Uninstall’ button.
