TrackBee conversion booster setup guide

Introduction

To make use of the enhanced conversion tracking in Google, you need to set up the Google Conversion Booster. This guide will guide you through it, but it's important you also follow the set-up guide on the platform, as this generates a unique code for you.

How to Set Up the TrackBee Conversion Booster

  1. Navigate to the store you want to enable the booster for.

    1. Go to stores page and click on the store you want to set-up.

  2. Ensure you have connected your Google account.

    1. If you haven't connected Google yet, please use this guide.

  3. Enable the "TrackBee" Conversion booster button

    1. Before continuing to the setup guide, ensure to enable the button.

  4. Open the setup guide and carefully follow the steps.

  5. Open Google Ads -> navigate to the Goals -> Conversions -> Settings

    1. Navigate to Google Ads.

  6. Accept customer data terms

    1. Make sure the customer data terms are read and accepted

  7. Enable enhanced conversions

    1. Make sure enhanced conversions are enabled and the method is set to “Google Ads API”. Don't forget to press save!

    2. If the setting is not visible here, it might be visible under the "ORDER (TrackBee)" conversion action settings instead.

    3. Please ensure you are not looking at the “Enhanced conversions for leads” settings, leads are a separate concept in Google Ads that we will not be using.

  8. Select default consent mode

    1. Select a default value for the consent mode of the Google Tag. This value will be overwritten when a user interacts with a cookie banner and the cookie banner has Google Tag support. Learn more

  9. Navigate to Shopify customer events

    1. Log in to Shopify and navigate to “Customer events” under settings.

  10. Add custom pixel

    1. Add a custom pixel and name it “TrackBee - Google Tag”

  11. Configure the pixel

    1. Configure the pixel like you see in the image below.

  12. Copy and paste pixel code

    1. Copy and paste the following code into the newly created custom pixel. Remember to click on Save and on Connect.

    2. Don't forget to remove any code that has been generated by Shopify!

  13. The conversion booster setup check will run automatically.

    1. If all is correct you'll see the following message:

Keep in mind it can take up to 6 hours for the initial connection with Google to be made and verified. Come back after this period and click on "check setup" again to verify your set-up.
