Introduction

When setting up the Google Conversion Booster in TrackBee, you might encounter the error “Found multiple booster scripts”. This means that multiple instances of the TrackBee Conversion Booster script were detected on your website. Having duplicate scripts can cause conflicts and affect the performance of your tracking. This guide will help you understand why this error occurs and how to fix it.

What Does “Found multiple booster scripts” Mean?

The error indicates that:

• You have more than one TrackBee Conversion Booster script installed on your website.

• This usually happens when multiple custom pixels are created in Shopify’s Customer Events section.

• Duplicate scripts can lead to inaccurate tracking and data conflicts, impacting your ad campaign optimization.

How to Resolve the Error

To fix this issue, you need to remove any old or duplicate scripts from your website, ensuring only the latest script is active. Follow these steps to identify and remove duplicate scripts in Shopify:

1. Log In to Shopify:

• Go to Shopify and log in to your store’s admin panel.

2. Navigate to Customer Events:

• In the lower-left corner, click on “Settings”.

• From the settings menu, select “Customer events”.

3. Review Your Custom Pixels:

• In the Customer events section, you’ll see a list of all custom pixels installed on your store.

• Look for multiple pixels related to TrackBee. They might be named similarly, such as “TrackBee - Google Tag”, “TrackBee - Conversion Booster”, or other variations.

4. Identify Duplicate Scripts:

• Determine which pixel is the correct and latest TrackBee Conversion Booster script. The recommended name is “TrackBee - Google Tag”.

• Any additional custom pixels related to TrackBee are likely duplicates.

5. Remove Duplicate Pixels:

• For each duplicate pixel:

• Click on the pixel to view its details.

• Click on “Delete” or “Remove” to uninstall the pixel from your store.

• Confirm the deletion if prompted.

6. Ensure only one custom TrackBee Pixel Remains:

• After removing duplicates, only the “TrackBee - Google Tag” pixel should remain in your Customer events.

7. Verify in TrackBee:

• Return to your TrackBee account.

• Navigate to the Google Conversion Booster setup.

• Click on “Check Setup” to confirm that the error has been resolved.

Ensure to not remove the TrackBee Connect App in the Customer Events. When making use of the Google conversion booster you need both the TrackBee Connect App, as well as the custom "TrackBee - Google Tag" pixel.

By removing duplicate scripts and ensuring only the latest TrackBee Conversion Booster script is active, you prevent conflicts and improve tracking accuracy for your ad campaigns.
