This means that Google Auto-Tagging is not enabled in your Google Ads account, which is essential for proper tracking and accurate attribution of your advertising efforts. Enabling Auto-Tagging allows TrackBee to receive detailed data about ad clicks, improving the effectiveness of your campaigns. This guide will help you understand why this error occurs and how to fix it.

What Does “Auto Tagging Not Enabled” Mean?

Google Auto-Tagging automatically appends a unique identifier called the Google Click Identifier (GCLID) to your ad URLs. This identifier helps TrackBee and Google Ads track user interactions with your ads more precisely. The error indicates that:

• Auto-Tagging is currently disabled in your Google Ads account.

• Without Auto-Tagging, important data such as conversions and user behavior may not be accurately recorded.

How to Resolve the Error

Follow these steps to enable Auto-Tagging in your Google Ads account:

1. Sign In to Google Ads:

• Go to Google Ads and sign in with your Google account credentials.

2. Access Account Settings:

• Click on the Admin icon (shaped like a cog) in the bottom left.

• Under the Setup section, select Preferences.

3. Enable Auto-Tagging:

• In the Preferences section, find the Auto-tagging option.

• Check the box next to “Tag the URL that people click through from my ad” to enable Auto-Tagging.

4. Save Your Changes:

• Click the Save button to apply the changes.

5. Verify the Setting:

• Return to your TrackBee account.

• Navigate to your Store Settings.

• Click on the “Check Setup” button to verify if the error has been resolved.

By enabling Auto-Tagging, you ensure that TrackBee can accurately track and attribute conversions from your Google Ads campaigns, leading to better insights and optimization.
